Census 2021 heroes

Census 2021 is the 22nd census in England and Wales.

To celebrate this, we wanted to recognise the achievements of 22 ordinary people who have done extraordinary things.

22 purple plaques for Census 2021

Thank you for all the entries to nominate your local community heroes.

Our judging panel of Joanna Page, Imran Hameed, Deborah Okenla and Delwyn Derrick had the difficult job of choosing the winners.

For dedication to their local communities, we were delighted to award the 22 winners with their own, unique Census 2021 purple plaque.
