Demography and migration : Census 2021 results and our ageing population

Census 2021 results showed that the population of England and Wales is the oldest it's ever been. We wanted to go beyond the numbers, explore what the data was telling us and find out:

  • what challenges older people face
  • what older people think about ageing
  • how we could all age better

We worked in partnership with Age UK, the Centre for Ageing Better and the International Longevity Centre UK to answer these questions.
